PLATFORM ISSUES:

•  Jail Overcrowding

            This is a major issue within the county.  Discussions will be held with County Commissioners to consider the possibility of a new jail or expansion of the current facility to help with overcrowding.  Building more jails or even a larger one, is not a feasible long term solution.  Therefore to further alleviate the problem, I would propose a diversion center created for non-violent offenders.  This center would give judges more options in dealing with minor offenders, thus providing an opportunity for rehabilitation.
