Kenneth Brown would encourage citizen volunteerism and would like the pleasure of meeting and working along side many wonderful and dynamic citizens in his community.  He would like to expand his friendships and enjoy watching the strength and benefits of a volunteer based resource address the contemporary concerns and growth across the county.

 Kenneth Brown’s vision for providing the highest level of public safety and public service can only be achieved through public information programs, excellent crime prevention programs, effective law enforcement strategies, combined and multi-agency task forces and volunteer programs designed to augment the operations of the Sheriff’s Department.   In addition, Brown plans to address the issues of jail overcrowding, department morale and the high turnover rate.  Brown plans to incorporate programs designed to promote a philosophy and an organizational strategy that will encourage a working partnership between the Police Department, Sheriff’s Department and the citizens in the community. He believes in promoting an effective, working relationship built on a shared trust and the belief that law-abiding citizens deserve input into their public safety through every citizen’s participation.    Brown would encourage citizens to share in the opportunity to enhance their community’s public safety and he believes this would create the atmosphere for an improved quality of life.  Citizens of Athens - Clarke County would also benefit from the strength of community-oriented type programs.

I believe that the opportunity for new leadership in Athens-Clarke County will be a 2008 sheriff’s campaign based on issues of public safety, public service, leadership and principles above politics.  I believe that my proven leadership will become the key to success for a professional public image in the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office. Kenneth Brown is no stranger to the Athens community.  He is a native Athenian who grew up in the heart of Rocksprings Homes.  Kenneth has been in law enforcement for a total of 16 years.  He has worked with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department in the traffic division as a hit and run investigator, and is currrently a Patrol Sergeant.  Sergeant Brown’s face can be seen at many community activities where he is always an active participant.  For all that he has done within the community, he is now asking for something in return.  Sergeant Kenneth Brown has announced his candidacy for Sheriff of Athens-Clarke County, and he needs your support.  Sergeant Brown has many ideas and plans to make this community a safer place to live.  It is his desire to utilize his 16 years of experience in law enforcement to create a better Sheriff’s department.  He cannot do this without you, the citizens of this great community.  As Kenneth continues his campaign, he is asking for your support of community forums, fundraisers, and most importantly your vote.  Without your voice in the 2008 election for Sheriff, changes cannot be made.  Please email Kenneth Brown at:  BrownforSheriff@gmail.com with questions, concerns and comments.  He is waiting to hear from you, the community.
